Mountsburg Maple Town

After The Aboriginal village we headed up the road to Mountsburg Maple Town. Another cool place to go with the kids. They got to check out animals, learn how sap is turned into syrup. Both how they did it long ago and how they do it now. Then the kids got to play in the barn that was converted to a big play area. We even got to taste some yummy...I guess you would call it, maple sugar. Whatever it was it was yummy.

And off to Maple Town we go...

We tried to enjoy a pancake lunch. I say tried because the pancakes were a bit on the heavy side and by now we were a little mapled out.

Keenan told me he wants his next fort to be like this barn....sure, when I win the lotto. LOL!!

Spring Break '09

So for Spring Break James got to come home for the whole week. I was going to say that that was the longest time he has spent at this house since we moved in but he was home at Christmas too. It was great to spend that much time all together, it seems like it has been so long since we have been able to do that.

We went to his dad's farm for a few days. I love that place. Its just so quiet and relaxing there. The kids love visiting there too, and so do the dogs. They get the run of the property with no leashes and all sorts of smells and stuff to check out and by they I was mean the dogs. But the kids check out all the different smells and things too :) I couldn't get any good ones of the dogs cuz they were too busy running everywhere.
Its amazing at how well these two CAN get along at times....gives me hope.

This is the milk snake that Linda found in the basement. When I told Keenan to go see the snake downstairs he thought I was just pulling his leg....he was wrong.

Crawford Lake Aboriginal Village

During our visit to Grandpa's farm he took us to go see The Crawford Lake Aboriginal Village. It was such a cool place with so much to see. Keenan really enjoyed this because he had studied The Aboriginals in school this year. He knew so much about the buildings and things that were used back then he was our own little tour guide.

There were so many cool things inside to see and do. There are more pics on my flickr here.

Grandpa even tasted what Linda was cooking. HAHA!!
Keenan said he was Elliot the moose from Open Season. LOL!!

At the beginning of the movie....
And during the movie....Keenan is such a nut :)

I love this one with three generations of Gallagher Guys.

Here we are sitting around a fire as they taught us about how they turn sap into syrup.
