Pics of Kids and House

Okay, here are the pic I promised. Don't have alot of time here so I'm just gonna post some pics and I will be back in a couple weeks....or sooner if things go well.

Haylei is in the hat, the other baby is Amanda, she is 5 weeks older than Haylei.

Daddy thought the booger bubble was funny

Late again...

I know, I know, I'm a little slow on the postings. Which I have heard a few times from a couple of my unnamed sisters. LOL!! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the blogging will be coming to a short pause. I have foot surgery tomorrow and will not be able to make it into the basement at all so it will have to wait until I recover. I wish I had a lap top but I don't. At least I will have a lot of reading to do when I become mobile again.

I have finally downloaded my camera so I will do an update on the house, kids and Cleo (the puppy) tonight before I have to temporarily abandon the computer.

For those who haven't seen pictures of the house just wait till you see them, everything is coming along quickly now...only 3 months to go !!!!! I know some of you have seen our house on Sean and Holli's blog but some of you haven't. It was amazing to drive up there the other week and all of the sudden there was an actual house there. Not just cement and dirt.

Trust me I can't wait to be all moved in and soaking in the hot tub....if we can get one we like at a decent price. I can dream though!!!

6 Weird things about me...

I've been given the task to find 6 weird things about me... okay I'll try.

1. I have a thing I do with my thumbs that makes me relax...my comfort thing I guess. When I am chilling out in front of the TV at nights and especially when I am trying to go to sleep I tuck my thumbs in between my middle and pointing fingers. James laughs at me all the time but it works for me. If I am having a hard time getting to sleep I usually realise that my thumbs aren't tucked in, I tuck them in and off to sleepy-bye I go.

2. I LOVE PAPER WORK and STRESS!!!! It drives some people crazy but I thrive on it. I guess that is why I love my job.

3. I have a strange baby toe. I doesn't touch the floor, it is bent over the top of the next toe. It kinda looks like I have my toes crossed.

4. My big toe (on the same foot) doesn't touch the ground either. Since my last surgery on it I can slip about 20 pieces of paper under it without touching.

5. I too, like my sister Angella, enjoy my food separated. I am not as bad as she is (I can handle it touching). But I do eat my food one portion at a time. ie. all my meat first, then all veg, then all potatos, but never mix them together.

6. When me and James are holding hands I CAN NOT STAND it when my hand is on top. Mine has to be under his. Don't ask me why but it just bugs the snot out of me. He finds it funny and always tries to make my hand on top but it doesn't happen.

They aren't totally WEIRD but those are some of my quirks.

Old friends

So reading over my comments the other day there was one from an old girlfriend of mine from back home. I totally thought that was cool. I think this whole blogging thing is AWESOME!!! People every where getting to know what is goin on in your life. Its seems that once you move away and your life carries on it is SOOOOO hard to keep in touch, it is nice to hear from them again.

If there are more of my old friends that are reading this thing, please comment or email me. I would love to hear from you. As you can tell by reading this that my life has changed DRAMATICALLY. But it has changed for the better. No more partying all the time (only occasionally), and I have the most amazing husband, the cutest kids and a a cute puppy(post on that coming). What more could I ask for. Oh, and I actually do LOVE my job. The new house is being built all I need is the white picket fence.

Anyways before I start ramblling, I miss you all and please keep in touch.

Just some more pictures of the kids to show off their cuteness...

House progress

I said that I would post some shots...here is what we got a couple of weeks ago when we went for our foundation inspection. Ours is only cement, the other house is Holli and Sean's. I;m jealous, they got a Creekside. That was the one we REALLY wanted but our budget told us otherwise. LOL!!! I can't wait until ours gets as far as theirs, it is going to start getting really exciting now that it'll be more than dirt and cement.

Just a short one for now...

Well, me in all my infinate wisdom forgot my pictures at home. I am at work (early as usual) and thought that I would update this puppy...without pictures I guess.

Well, we recently found out who are neighbours are going to be Holli and Sean Ward. The funny thing is the way we found this out. I guess, from what I understand, they were doing a search for Sunriver Estates on the internet and hit my blog. After looking at my blog they saw a picture of my sister and recognized her !!! Holli and Angella used to hang out back in Prince Rupert way back when. They bought the lot right beside ours and they have a six year old boy too!!! It is nice that we already know who the neighbours are. Its nice that they are a younger couple like us too.

We went out there last Thursday for our foundation inspection and as far as I can tell things look good...but what do I know. When I get home I will post some pictures.

Sean and Holli...if you are reading this I will post some pics I took of your place too, its coming along nicely. I do have to say that I'm jealous...we wanted a Creekside but our budget said otherwise. LOL!!!

Our New House

As we go along in the whole house building process I thought I would share it with you...

Once we bought the property it looked like this...

Then this... not much more difference then the first but there is more dirt from the neighbors yard.

About 3 weeks ago James went to see how far, if at all, they had gotten on the house. This is what he saw...

Then we went this last Saturday and look what we saw...

Cool huh ?!! I can't wait. I am sooo excited. It is going to be soooo awesome to finally have our OWN BRAND NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!

I'll keep you posted on the construction.

Busy, busy, busy

I know, I know...I am terrible at this. It has been a long time but I finally downloaded my camera...165 pics later...ooops.

Our fishies

As most of you know we have realised that we have a hobby. That hobby is our fish. I love our fish. They are so pretty and neat to watch.

Yesterday we went out in search of something that would clean up our tank. Its not nasty or anything but the crush coral on the bottom (looks like sand)is starting to look a little dirty. That and we are getting some algea. So instead of just getting the one thing...like always we bought a bunch of stuff. We have recently decided that we are addicted and I'm not allowed to go into the fish stores alone...I have NO self control.

I thought I would share our fishies with you... this is one of our 3 porcelean crabs

We have 4 of these cleaner shrimp, below.

This is a yellow tail blue damsel, they are kinda mean. We did have 2 but our big guy beat the snot out of the little guy.

We have 2 of these yellow tangs...

These little guys are about the size of a quarter, it can get hard to find them in our huge tank but I really though they were neat. Plus I liked their name...Sexy shrimp.

This is our white goby, he eats mouthfuls of sand and sifts out the dirt.

This is our Powder Brown Tang, we have since seen a powder blue tang and I think it is next on our list.

This wierd looking guy is one our faves. He is called a Sea Hare, ours is black and white. He reminds us of a dog, when he goes to sleep he curls up. I call him our under water puppy. He's so ugly he's cute.

Last but not least is my FAVE!!!! He is a mandarin Goby, isn't he beautiful ????

I hope you enjoyed our fish. I know there isn't alot right now but this is an expensive hobby so it will take us some time to build it up. Once any of you actually see it you will understand why we love it.

PROUD TO DO WHAT I DO

As I mentioned in my last blog, I love what I do. I just got this in an email and thought I would share it...

One of my sons serves in the army. He is still here in
Canada . He called me yesterday to let me know how
warm and welcoming people were to him, and his fellow
soldiers, everywhere he goes, telling me how people
shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to
serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so
that others may have them also. But he also told me
about an incident in the grocers' shop he stopped at
yesterday, on his way home from the barracks. He said
that ahead of several people in front of him stood a
woman dressed in a burkha.
He said when she got to the checkout she loudly
remarked about the Canadian Flag lapel badge the cashier
wore on her blouse. The cashier reached up and touched
the badge, and said proudly," Yes, I always wear it
and probably always will."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when
she was going to stop bombing her countrymen,
explaining that she was Iraqi. A gentleman standing
behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around
my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said
in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman: "Lady,
hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young
man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here,
in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of
bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you
been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't
need to be there today.
But, hey,if you have now learned how to speak out so
loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and
pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out
the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here,
in MY, country to avoid."

Everyone within hearing distance cheered!

YUCKY!!!!

Today is going to be a rough one. I started feeling sickly yesterday but because I'm either a sucker for punishment or I have a conscience I have come to work. Way too early, like usual, but I'm here. And as you can tell my mind isn't into work...thats why I'm blogging. LOL!!!

I know that I've slacked off on the blogging thing but unlike my sister I'm not a beautiful writter. She can blog about anything and make it sound good. Maybe one day...

Well, seeing how I'm here lets see what I can tell you to get you up to date with what is going on in the Gallagher household.

For starters Haylei is growing and packing on the pounds. In about a weeks she packed on 9 oz and is weighing in at 16lbs 11oz and 26.5 inches long. She has a bit of a cold again, nothing serious just alot of boogers.

Keenan has been slowly getting better with his attitude and behaviour issuse. Well, to a point. I mean he is a 6 year old little boy and I'm told that is normal. I guess now I wait until his mid twenties before all of that changes. LOL!! I can't blame the kid, I mean, he is mine and I know I was NO angel.

James is doing good. I think he is getting a little stir crazy in the house all of the time but he does hide it well. With all of this time on his hands he has decided that he misses being in the Army. He always knew that he wasn't going to stay in the Navy, it was just a stepping stone. Like I told him the other night, it was only so that he could meet his wife and creat his family. Thats what I like to think anyways.

He has decided that he wants to try for FCS Tech (Fire control system technician). Fire Control Systems Technicians belong to the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Branch of the Canadian Forces. They are the only electronic-optronic technicians dedicated to the Army, but they also support Air Force and Navy requirements. Firecontrol systems are the weapon components that ensure accurate delivery of ammunition to the intended target, and Fire Control Systems Technicians are responsible for maintaining, repairing and modifying this equipment to keep it in top condition. So he in a nut shell he gets to blow stuff up !!!

There are a couple other trades that he has been looking at if he can't get that one but for all of them he would have to go Army again. As long as he eventually finds something that he is happy with, its all good.

The only crappy thing is that if he gets his FCS Tech then again he will be away for a long time. As it is he leaves for the Gulf in Sept (about a month after we take possession of the house) and will be gone for 6 months. He may come home early but that is only if he gets accepted for the FCS Tech course which is over a year long and all of it is done in the Ontario area. We have no idea what will happen, it all depends on if he gets this course. I hope that if he gets the course I will get posted to somewhere in Ontario so that me and the kids will be somewhat closer to him. Otherwise me and the kids will have to stay here and be away from him for over a year. I know it sounds like a long time (and it kind of is) but in the grand scheme of things, being our entire lives, a year is relatively short.

Regardless of what happends with that...if he doesn't get that course then once he gets home from the Gulf he will have to do his 5's training and that is in Halifax for something like 4 1/2 months.

It sounds like alot and I know some of my friends that are not in the military don't know how we do it but this is our lives. I can't speak for James but I love my job, my life, my family and all it entails. You have to realise that we volintarily joined the military and knew that there would be trying times. I can honestly say that it wasn't until I joined the military that I actually felt like I belonged. There is no life like it....and I love it.

I guess I should probably get back to work but I will try to update this more often now that I know I can access it for work.

Oh, and for those that don't know we did buy the house. We went and picked out everything from lighting to counter tops...that was fun. Now all we have to do is wait for it to get built...its going to be a long 5 months. I'm impatient, I want to move in NOW!!!!!!
